History

Here you will find information on the past of Bohemian Films, how we came about and what our plans are for the future

The Beginning

During the beginning of 1999, the very first ideas of filmmaking began to enter the heads of the founders of Bohemian Films, Dylan Hoeffler & Scott McCarrey. The choice to make videos sprung as an alternative to your average essay paper or any other school project. So the two began work on their independent film companies. Hoeffler founded Landmark Films, while McCarrey began work on Sgt. Pepper Productions. Many productive films and creative projects came out of these experimental companies. But because of lack of support and resources, after about one year of operation, the two fledgling film studios began to wither down and production output started to slow. After a brief hiatus, McCarrey & Hoeffler met and decided to combine their companies into one. Thus monopolizing the student film industry in San Antonio, Texas. It was at this moment in the early months of 2000 that Bohemian Films was born.

As Of Now

After forming their new film company, McCarrey & Hoeffler were both eager to get started on their first project. There had been productions earlier in the year, but these were not affiliated with Bohemian Films. They decided to start work on a brief biography of Czar Nicholas II. After filming within a constricted schedule, the film was completed and was a complete success. McCarrey and Hoeffler realized that their choice to merge was indeed the best for both of their filmmaking careers. After doing four more films under the production of Bohemian Films (Including a music video and many international films) McCarrey and Hoeffler were approached with what they had been waiting for, a chance to Produce and Direct their first full-length feature film for the First Annual Ronald Reagan Film Festival. They both jumped at the opportunity. This was just the beginning of their full-length films and they hope to produce many more films varying in style and genre.
